Beatrix Potter Hiking Tour H1

This tour is a wonderful oppportunity to enjoy nature and combine a short hike with a tour. Your guide will meet you at your guesthouse and you take the ferry across Lake Windermere to the start of the trail. You climb through a mixed woodland with views over the lake before reaching the open hillside above Sawrey.

Here you will see sheep up close and learn about farming and the building of the dry stone walls before descending to Sawrey Stores and the church. A gentle walk alongside a stream brings you to Hill Top and the home of Beatrix Potter. You can if you wish visit inside the house and then join our tour bus to Hawkshead village. After looking around the village we drive to Waterhead and you can take a 35min cruise to Bowness or continue with the tour bus.

Tour starts 0900 and finishes 1330.

Hiking time approx 2 hrs on good trails

Entry to Hill Top and Lake Cruise are optional and not included in the price (approx £11)
